HOW DOES LABELCOIN WORK? …EXPLAINED IN 30 SECONDS
- Every time you listen to a song on Spotify, the artist gets paid royalties.
- On Labelcoin, artists can sell those royalties to fans (making years of royalty income now).
- Fans collect their share of the royalties like stock dividends, and can resale their shares to other fans.
- Artists keep earning transaction fees every time their song shares are traded
- Artist poverty – ended.
IT'S NOT A CRYPTO CURRENCY -
IT'S AN INVESTING APP FOR SONGS
Imagine you could buy stocks, but instead of owning a piece of a corporation, you own a piece of a song from an artist you love. That’s what Labelcoin allows you to do!
Every time you purchase a share of a song on Labelcoin, that purchase goes straight to the artist. You, as the Songholder, have the option to hold that share for as long as you like, and collect your share of the royalty payouts.
You can also wait for the song to increase in value, and sell the share on Labelcoin’s open market song exchange, for a potential profit on your investment. It’s a win for artists, and a win for investors in songs.
WHAT’S IN IT FOR THE FANS AND SONGHOLDERS?
Labelcoin is on a mission is to end artist poverty; but that doesn't mean fans can't also benefit along the way. Here's a little more about how you can take advantage of our unique song exchange.
Of Songs You Want
- When you find a song on Labelcoin, you can buy up to 50% ownership stake in it – depending on how many shares are available. Request any unlisted song too, and we’ll notify the artist!
Paid Directly to You
- Labelcoin collects royalties directly from DSPs and distributes the payouts to all Songholders (that’s you!) like a dividend. Sit back, and enjoy the cash deposited right into your Labelcoin wallet.
On The Song Exchange
- You bought a song before it was popular, but now it’s climbing up the charts! The value of your shares increases too, which means you could sell your shares for a profit. Like any savvy investor.

More about the app
Artists can bring their future income forward by selling the digital streaming rights of their songs to Songholders. Explore the simple flow chart here:
Artists assign song rights to Labelcoin, and Labelcoin pays out the artist’s initial song valuation, royalties, and trading transaction revenue.
Songholders buy fractions of the song rights called Notes, and can trade them for profit with other fans.
DISTRIBUTORS / PASSIVE LISTENERS
Songs are uploaded to distributors like CDBaby, Tunecore, and Distrokid who in turn collect recording royalties from listeners on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, and more.
Labelcoin helps register songs with all rights distributors and pays back out to respective owners.
Jonah decides to list 40% of the streaming royalties for New Awesome Song on the Song Exchange.
Jonah decides on his listing price of $100,000 for 40% of New Awesome Song, using our proprietary song valuation algorithm as a guide. Labelcoin will issue 10,000 Notes at an initial price of $10. (Songholders can buy fractions of Notes, leaving the number of fans and investors who can own part of New Awesome Song uncapped).
Labelcoin is assigned 40% of the song split by Jonah’s distributor, and New Awesome Song goes live on the Song Exchange on Jonah’s selected Listing Date.
Jonah’s fans and savvy investors buy up the Notes: 1,000 Fans buy from Jonah’s YouTube video (pinned to his page), 500 Fans buy at Jonah’s shows, 500 investors purchase, and 3 Curated Collections (mutual funds) add New Awesome Song to their Collection.
Songholders start earning royalties right away and can resell their Notes to others at market value after all of the Notes are sold or a 90 day vesting period is completed.
Jonah keeps up to 97% of the revenue from the sale of his Notes and never misses out on royalties, because any royalties from unsold Notes go right back to him. He also earns a passive residual income of 40% from every transaction fee each time his Notes are resold.
The earnings don’t stop with the Initial Note Offering! If Jonah has 10,000 Songvestors then we estimate an additional $3,150 per song/year from transaction fees alone.
Songholders participate in making the popularity of the song grow and grow. Now that it’s a billboard topper, they can earn bigger royalties, or sell their shares for a profit!

Growing up in a very musical family, I fell into music naturally, and early on. I was homeschooled all the way through high school, and was blessed with two amazing parents who invested in me, and nurtured my passion for music. With not many other things that interested me as a kid, I put most of my free-time into practicing my instruments and finding my voice. With my first laptop, and guitar, my passion for performing crossed paths with a new-found interest in mixing and producing.
I started posting videos on YouTube in 2012, with just an iPhone and my bedroom. They were pretty bad! But I had fun making them.
I was so blown away and excited when I got my first 1,000 views on one of my videos. So I kept creating. Kept posting videos. I had some early supporters online who really encouraged me to keep going. And I’ve never stopped since.
Today, I continue to make music, and enjoying a simple life with my beautiful wife Celine, and our doggie Jasper. I’m so unbelievably grateful for all the supporters who watch my videos and listen to my music - giving me the opportunity to do what I love full time.
